301 Endless Yard Sale June 20-21

After a month of preparing, we finally got to the first day of the event. The 301 Endless Yard Sale is an annual event that takes place down highway 301 for 100 miles.

The sun was shining, a little too much. The first day we set up outside and learned a lot. The first thing we learned- June is not a great time for candles. The sun slowly started to melt our candles and we sat and watched people drive by- not interested in candles in June.

We ended up having to close down early, not being able to outlast the heat, after only making $20.

I felt very discouraged. I’ve worked so hard to make a good product that is long lasting and smells very good, but no one seemed willing to come up and smell anything.

Today, I’m set up inside the boutique that I was renting space from. The 301 Endless Yard Sale is still going on and now that we are inside, my candles won’t melt. I’m hoping to get some foot traffic soon.
